Hurray!!! I am so excited to announce that I am having a contest to give away the all new version of the Electric Quilt - EQ7. Thanks to the generousity of the Electric Quilt Company 10 bloggers were chosen to have contests to give away EQ7 and I was one of them! I am so excited to be doing this. EQ has been a part of my life for many years and it is an incredible quilt design tool. I am thrilled that I am able to give someone the chance to love it as much as I do! Check out all the new features! This is a quilt design program for every level of quilter and every level of computer user! It is a design tool no one should be without!

So a contest we will have! I know you are all excited to win so this is how you enter!

Just leave me a comment and tell me whether you have a previous version of EQ and what you want to design - traditional quilts or contemporary quilts. It's that easy. Please just one comment per person!

Do you want bonus entries? Here are 2 ways to get bonus entries!

1)  If you have a version of EQ right now then design something and email me the image of your quilt and I'll give you one bonus entry. If you don't have EQ then you can draw a quilt design, take a picture of it or scan it and email that to me. I may post your image on my blog too!

2) If you post something about this contest on your blog with a link to my contest then I'll give you a bonus entry too! Just send me an email with a link to your blog!

Especially love it for drawing applique - so much better than paper and pencil (and large eraser). It makes it so easy to share with other quilters.

  141. i use a composition book of graph paper for planning quilts - it drives me CRAZY - i'm a techno-idiot, but my buddies in blogland would help me figure out EQ7 - right blockland buddies?!?

  142. Congratulations on being one of the lucky 10. I do not have any EQ and began to realize how much that would help when designing a quilt to use a specific fabric called Dance with the Fairies by Eleanor Peace Bloom. It has many fairies that must be fussy cut to use efficiently. As I used graph paper and colored pencils I began to covet this program. I guess I don't care if they are traditional or contemporary. I have made both. The Fairies one turns out to be a version of the Ohio Star. . .YIKES.
I'd LOVE EQ7. so I am crossing my fingers. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

I HAD an EQ version (4 or 5 I think) and when I got my new computer it wouldn't work with Vista...I decided that seeing as I had hardly used it I wouldn't bother getting a new one, however, I now regret that decision...and I am going to have to just get over the price and go for it!!...unless of course I'm lucky enough to win it!! LOL

  144. Congrats on your EQ7 win!! :)

  146. I have never owned or used any version of EQ and would love to try it!

  147. I haven't used EQ before but I've decided its time I had a go. I'd design traditional and modern quilts! I seem to alternate between the two. I guess different moods and different fabrics inspire the different styles. That's the great thing about quilting! So many quilts to make and so little time. That's where EQ7 would come in handy!! Cheers

  148. I don't have EQ but have always wanted to try it. I have heard great things about it. I just have to cross my fingers and hope I win :-)

  150. congrats on your win..

i dont have any previous EQ programs..

but i design blocks, quilts, and house floor plans using quad pads/books..

i also draw out blocks that i see to break them down into sections that i can easily use myself..

would love to have EQ7 to use and for others to come and use also..

  152. I had a great time designing a Storm at Sea quilt on EQ5 – it was great to have the fabric and piece lists. Would love to be able to move up to EQ7!

  153. I don't have a copy of Any of the EQ programms but I think I am at the stage of my quilting where I could use one. I like to try and change patterns around to make them my own but seem to need some help with the math and especially colours so I definately could do with a copy of EQ7.

  156. Hi and Congratulations for winning EQ7. Here's hoping I win one too. I do have a previous version, EQ6, but moved just as it arrived in the mail. It remains unopened as I have just started unpacking the quilty stuff. If I am lucky enough to win EQ7, I know just who will receive my previous version.

  164. I looked into getting EQ6, but just couldn't justify the cost when I'm a newbie quilter. I love everything that is happening in the modern quilt movement, so if I win EQ7, I'd definitely use it to make contemporary designs.

  165. Oh, I would LOVE to win! How fantastic.

  166. No, I do not own EQ. I am afraid that I would spend more time on EQ than I would cleaning the house, etc. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I guess. haha.
I like designing traditional quilts with modern color/touches.

  175. I have EQ6 now and would love to upgrade to EQ7. I design traditional quilts, but as I get more experienced, both in quilting and in designing in EQ, I hope I will develop a more modern individual style. I guess a lot of us start out playing with traditional blocks in EQ.

I will send you one of my designs, too.
