A UFO kind of week!

Sometimes I just have to say WOW! Did I do good!
I am on a mission to work on my UFO's...one big one at a time and smaller ones mixed in.

I laid out my flying geese and sashings...it is going to be huge!! 104" x 104".

(Do you like all the foot scrunches?) It is all ready to piece the rows together now. I'm needing one full day in my sewing room though so when I get started I won't have to stop.

Next on the UFO list...

Two small lap quilts got machine quilted and bound.

I have not a clue what I am doing with this one. It was made from scraps from a quilt kit.
It will probably become a gift eventually.

This one is going to become a car quilt...

And I finished a bit of knitting too! I am glad I got these done BEFORE winter was over!

So...WOW! Now to go clean up a bit!

Happy Stitching!

Quilting is Dangerous!

Last week I stuck a needle in my finger- right along the nail...OUCH! Well, after a few days it was really hurting and turning red all around.  Then it filled with pus. Yuck! (You probably didn't want to hear that part) It is not a good thing to try and hand quilt with an infected finger.

So while I wait for it to heal I have been keeping busy with other things.

I wound all my skeins of sock yarn into balls. I am ready to knit socks! Lots of socks!

I also took a bit of time in my sewing room with my flock of geese! All the 8 geese units are done. All that is left are 13 two-geese units...just 26 geese in all. By the time they are finished I will have made a total of 902 geese! Now that is a lot of geese.

I am close to having a working finger again so it won't be long before I'm hand quilting again!

And last but certainly not least, I want to show off what my wonderful brother made for me....

A coffee scoop and...

...a new pen!

Thanks!

Done the center!

It happens every time I hand quilt...I fall in love with the quilt.
This one is no exception!

I am finished quilting the center!!!
I'm so excited to get started on the borders.

I spent the afternoon marking 2 of the borders.

I really wanted to get quilting again so I thought 2 borders was enough.

I also have been getting in small chunks of sewing room time and I have geese going again. I have to admit...I am tiring of the geese but I can't start working on another UFO until my geese quilt is finished. One UFO at a time....

And we have a little blooming going on! So beautiful!

Progress on my hand quilting!

I'm finally back from my family holiday and I couldn't wait to get right back to hand quilting. I am so close to getting the centre section of my quilt done.
My deadline of March still looms but it is totally doable!

I had the quilt spread out on my lap last night and was thinking that the border takes up as much area as the centre does...why do I never think of that unless I have a deadline?

I have been reading blogs all about New Years resolutions and plans for the year to come and UFO`s! And so glad I am not the only one with WAY TOO MUCH on the go! When I got home from my holiday I spent a bit of time cleaning my sewing room and getting ready to get back in there to tackle a few things. I found so many ongoing projects I was actually afraid to count them!

So did I make a plan for them?...No way! I am going to try NOT to start anything big though until the big things I have underway already are finished.

But there are always special little gifts that need making throughout the year!

Happy Stitching!
