No longer lonely!

I have been doing so much handwork lately and my sewing machine has been very neglected. I have been taking a bit of time to cut 1" strips to make the  Primitive Gatherings quilt "Nine" - all little 1-1/2" nine patches.

This week I got sewing...and sewing...and sewing....

Here are just some of the strips sewn...now it's time to cut them into 1" sections.

As I've been cutting I have separated them so the 'scrappy' look will be nicely spaced throughout the top.

I picked up this Creative Grids ruler (my first one and it will not be my last) and it was fabulous! No slipping while I was cutting and the lines are nice and thin. Love, Love, Love it!

I could not resist doing a little test block! It is so super cute- I am smitten!

In the pattern it says this project is a labor of love and it will certainly be that. When I am done it will be a quilt I pet every time I am near it!

Happy Stitching!

84 Hexagons to Go!

I love getting close to the end of a 'big' project! This one may not be big in size but it has been big in time! I am totally smitten with this little quilt and can't wait to see it finished!

This is all I have left...84 little 1/4"  hexagons!

I have also been enjoying a bit of hand applique.
Eight blocks done, one to go!

The fun part is yet to come - some decorative stitching and quilting and maybe even some beads at the end! But first I'll have to think about the borders -scallops or quilted feathers perhaps?

Happy Stitching!
