Excitement is mounting!

When I get close to the end of a quilt I have worked on for a long time, I just can't help myself...I get a lot excited! And I start becoming a little obsessive about sewing too!  I finished border #3 last night in record time.

Today I pinned border #4!

It won't be long before the quilt top is done...just another week or two!

By then it will be cool enough to resume my hand quilting. It wasn't a plan but the timing is working out well. I can hardly wait...

A Gazillion Geese

Ok, maybe not a gazillion geese, but close to it...

We finally had a short break from the heat and I was able to not just sew but actually turn on my iron without roasting. What a treat!

Now the heat is back so I won't be in my sewing room for at least the rest of the week, but when I do I can get started sewing these into groups of 8 for my Wild Goose Chase sashing.

Happily, I am prepared for the summer. I pinned my third border for my applique quilt so that will keep me busy.

It's going to be a beauty and I find myself already wondering how I am going to quilt it.

Something a little different for me...

It ALL started with this....

It seemed innocent enough. I was just wanting to play with colors and styles that I never buy. This is really so unlike me. But then, it got under my skin, and I couldn't stop wondering what a bigger quilt would look like.

This is what happened...

A fat eighth pack and yardage. But it didn't stop there.

I found this in my stash...

Now I did not go so big but I thought, "While I am ordering I should get a little border print for that"

Really it was a fun day at the post office on Friday!

Another pair done

Socks are done, but I did not even make a dent in the leftover wool I was trying to use up.

There is at least enough for another full pair of socks!

My Dad will have happy feet this fall!

It's still too hot for much sewing in my attic but I did go to an outdoor quilt show in Moose Jaw- Quilts in the Park. It was a lovely day to wander the trees and quilts but the wind was a little up while I was there so I didn't take many pictures. There were lots of people around though to enjoy the sunshine and the quilts!

Soon I hope to be back to appliqueing and hand quilting...if the heat goes down just a bit that is...
